TEMP Chair
2020
The TEMP Chair explores the potential of transforming simple materials into multifunctional objects. Made from five flat-cut plywood panels, bound together with a strong cargo strap, the piece shifts between a chair and cargo, depending on its arrangement and use. Rather than focusing on the aesthetic form typical of traditional chair design, TEMP Chair emphasizes the role of sequence, arrangement, and rules as key design elements, revealing how the same materials can take on new purposes.

The 40mm wide cargo strap, with a tensile strength of 700kg, firmly secures the OSB panels, while the space beneath the seat offers practical storage. In this way, TEMP Chair reimagines the boundaries of functional design, turning simplicity into versatility.
